5 reasons why your January sucks!

So here is the thing, your January sucks for some reasons and they are the aftermaths of how you spent and managed your funds at the end of last year.

Let’s face it, January sucks for a lot of people. January is always the longest month of the year. The month of January seems like the whole of three months in just one month.

The major reason for this is because a lot of people are always broke by the beginning of the first month of the new year, which sucks because you have to wait until the end of the month to get your next pay.

The bad news is your January still looks so long which sucks and you still have to wait till the end of the month to get paid, but the good news is you’ll still get paid at the end of the month.

The only thing you can do at this moment is to be humble and patient.

So here is the thing, your January sucks for some reasons and they are the aftermaths of how you spent and managed your funds at the end of last year.

Here are reasons why your January sucks

1 Overspending

A lot of events happened last December from music concerts to comedy shows, raves and parties, which of course people had to spend on tickets to get into these events or spend on drinks and other fun stuff and left a lot of people out of cash.

The aftermath of such event is that you overspent without thinking how January was going to look like for you financially.

2. No savings

Before you set out to spend so much during the festive season, you should have started saving for the festive period, planning what the money would be spent on.

But instead of you to save for it, you chose to spend your monthly income on the festive period and you blew it all. That’s another reason your January sucks right now.

3. No budget

Another reason your January sucks real bad is that you did not create a budget at all during the festive period which made you overspend.

A budget would have helped you plan how to spend your money, curbing and controlling your excess spending.

4. No emergency saving funds

An emergency fund would have been great to fall back on in the new year till you get your income back on track, it would really have helped a long way to survive in the long month of January.

But the sad thing about it is you do not have an emergency savings fund to fall back on.

To avoid such from happening next year January, make sure you create an emergency savings fund for yourself.

5. No financial plan

A good reason why January really sucks for you is that you did not have a financial plan in place to see you through the very long month of January.

If you knew you were going to be doing a lot of spending during the festive period last year, you should have put some financial moves in place so you won’t be left with no money in the new year.
