The Re-elect Buhari Movement has reeled out reasons why President Muhammadu Buhari deserves to be re-elected for another term of four years in 2019.

At a meeting on Monday, the movement cited an N88bn payment “for the reconstruction of damage done to Biafra and the immediate payment of pension arrears to ex-Biafra police officers,” as one of the reasons Buhari should be re-elected come 2019.

The group said Buhari acceded to the N88bn payment, shortly after taking office, following an out-of-court settlement.

Besides the N88bn payment, the group urged Nigerians to also remember how the Buhari administration rescued about 20 states that were nearly comatose as a result of accumulated unpaid workers’ salaries.

“It took the timely intervention of President Buhari to bail out the states financially, irrespective of their party affiliation,” the Re-elect Buhari Movement said.

The group said as of when Buhari took the reins of power in 2015, there were about 58,000 abandoned projects, including 300 federal roads, scattered across the country; but, being a government that had the people’s interest at heart, the Buhari administration decided to prioritise the projects abandoned by his predecessors.

“A good number of federal highways, which were abandoned by previous administrations, are now receiving attention with serious construction works going on. These include the Lagos-Ibadan and Lagos-Abeokuta roads; Sagamu, Apapa Port Road, Port Harcourt-Enugu, East-West Highway and many others across the country,” it said.
